Linksys E3200 Review

I’ve had Linksys (Cisco) routers before and have always been pleased with them. I’ve recommended them to family members as well. Only issue is that prior routers were not easy to setup for novice users and as a result I always had to setup the routers I recommended to family members. The setup was too confusing for them so it was easier to just setup the router for them. The setups of past tried to have wizard based interfaces but they often didn’t work very well so I always set them up via the administrator page. The new E3200 is the easiest wireless router I have ever setup. The Linksys setup software is very good and will make setting up a wireless network a lot easier for the average user and will reduce returns and help desk work for Linksys. I installed the software on a MacBook Pro and it was very easy to install and use. The interface is very easy to use for setup and for managing the router.
For advanced users you can still go to the administrator page to fine tune settings for your particular need. The admin web page is the classic style Linksys administrator page. For me it took just a few minutes to enter in a wireless ssid name and password during setup and allow the unit to finish the setup. Linksys sure hit a home run on the setup interface.
After installation the software provides a connection manager that allows you to edit settings through an easy to follow and understand interface. Through the interface you can add additional computers and devices to the network (can do manual or through usb based easy connect that transfers settings to another computer), parental controls, guest network, and basic router settings.
In addition to the easy setup the new Linksys E3200 router has a number of nice features including the following:
1. Dual band wireless N (2.4ghz and 5ghz)
2. Gigabit ethernet ports, total of 4 ports.
3. USB port for shared storage.
4. MIMO antenna
5. Quality of service to prioritize network traffic.

If you are looking for a new high performance dual band wireless N network then I would sure check out the new Cisco (Linksys) E series wireless routers. There are a number of different routers based on your needs and price point so you should be able to find one that fits your particular needs.
